UNION 206 Member Contest #1 - CONGRATULATIONS JOE CARABEO
Friday, November 12, 2010 at 1:32PM Congratulations to Union 206 Member Joe Carabeo of Astray Productions whose image "Missile Crisis" was voted the best image and statement representative of "Change."
Joe's striking image of a woman settled into her early 1960s suburban life, haunted by her former glitz filled past, seeks excitement from her day-to-day experience - and she's given it, with the horror and fear of the Cuban Missile Crisis around the corner.
Or is this the future? Where vintage glamour is replaced with robotic lifestyles ala Philip K. Dick that only bombs and the new world order can disturb?

She was once a glamorous somebody, she now lives bored of the simple life. One day, while waiting for the spotlight, she wishes for drama. Then came the sirens.
Those two scenarios just show you how versatile Carabeo's work is - Mad Men ain't got nothin' on this guy.
That's just a tiny peek into the mind of Joe Carabeo and his cinematic photography. Coming soon to the Union 206 blog will be a detailed interview between Studio Director Sarah Stierch and Joe Carabeo - allowing one to understand more fully his passion for photography and cinema, as well as the influence and techniques in his art.
What does this image represent to you and how do you see it revolving around the word "change" - however you define it. Leave your comments below and let us know.
