I'm all about artistic collaborations, involvement of creative expression, and the pleasure of being an inspirational canvas for another's vision.
The goal is not just to be some pretty girl in a pretty picture, but to be involved in creating striking and emotive imagery.

My hair is currently short and deep blue. I do have a variety of wigs to achieve any desired look upon request.

I own several creatures that I am willing to pose with- they are exotic specimens, so if you want to work with me and my animals, please consider the time of year. I can not travel with any of my reptiles during the colder months.

Abbie + Social Media: Connecting YOU With Union 206

A lot of cool stuff happens at Union 206 each week, and we want to start sharing more of that with you. To that end, we've brought on Abbie Redmon as our social media maestro. Welcome, Abbie!

Through Facebook, Twitter, and this very blog, Abbie will help you stay connected and dialed-in to the industry, bringing you the latest news from the studio and the greater artistic community of Washington, DC, sharing photos and details from great shoots happening right here, featuring interviews with Union 206 members, running contests, announcing workshops, and showcasing opportunities.

One of the objectives of Union 206 is to foster a space where artists can meet, learn from each other, experiment, and grow. In addition to serving as a place with the space and equipment you need, we want to help you connect with each other, network, and find collaborators, mentors, and friends. One of Abbie's goals is to ensure that you always know what's going on at the studio, what kind of work your fellow members are up to, and how you can get involved.

We also want to FEATURE more of your work, so whenever you finish editing a shoot and have a favorite photo, send a web-sized file over to Abbie (along with your website or contact info), and she may share it with our community (and the world!) on our Facebook page or Twitter feed.

Speaking of, if you haven't done so already, please "like" the studio's Facebook page, and follow us on Twitter at @union206studio!

Union 206 is made up of YOU, our members, and we want to focus on you, support your work, and help you become better artists.

Please dont be shy! -- introduce yourself to Abbie if you see her around the studio, and get in touch with her about the photography you're doing! You can leave a note on our Facebook page, send her a Tweet at @union206studio, or email her at abbie@union206.com.

We can't wait to hear from all of you!

InstantDC's Michael Andrade Blogs About Union 206

Michael Andrade, a member of local DC photography collective InstantDC and contributing photographer to publications such as Worn Magazine, recently wrote a guest blog post about his recent studio time at Union 206 for food and fashion blogger Kimmie at the2fs.com. We'd like to share a few exerpts from that post and highlight Michael's experience at Union 206.

A photographer who excels at street photography, iPhone portraits, and band pictures, Michael writes about this being only his second time in a studio environment:

This time around, I really took mental notes of what the studio had to offer! The space is separated into three rooms that can be rented out by multiple clients: from car shoots, nude modeling to friends acting a fool like we did. Not to mention, everyone from the staff to photographers to creative souls were seriously the type of crowd that I like to hang with.

(Thanks, Michael! Here at Union 206, we like to be the type of crowd that people like to hang with.)

In the post, Michael talks about learning how to experiment with the positioning of lights and reflectors and soaking up knowledge from fellow DC photographers Michael Rakola and Jim Darling.

Michael's blog post is peppered with some great photos from the session, so please click through to check those out -- and to see what else fashionista Kimmie is up to.

Michael sums up his time at Union 206: "The two hour window went by very quickly but we were all left with great photos, great jokes and even greater understanding on how to excel as photographers."

Follow Michael on Twitter: @andradexcobain and visit him on the web. Follow Kimmie at the2fs.com and on Twitter: @the_2fs.

If you've had an awesome experience at Union 206, please tell us about it! We love hearing from our photographers. Check in with us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter for more news and features!
